Being one of the major energy consumers, cooking is a necessary part daily life. Non renewable fuel sources, such as wood or cow dung cause hazardous pollution and poor ecosystem worldwide. Over past few decades, solar-powered has undergone numerous improvements. Solar been predominantly used substitute for reducing oil gas dependence, increasing environmental sustainability, global warming threats. This paper talks about recent development box-type solar cooker. The discusses principles classifications various parameters that affect performance, energy, exergy related to system. In line with sustainable goals UN agenda 2030 especially heed accomplishment SDG 7 13, economic factors, payback period (PP), net present value (NPV), benefit–cost (B–C) ratios, internal rate return (IRR), levelized cost heat (LCOH), meal (LCCM) have discussed. analysis also presented show overall benefit cooking. review focuses on current cooker, its components, transfer characteristic.
